We are excited to welcome Flatlands Insurance Group, formerly Flatlands Jessup Insurance Group, to our Chamber community! With roots dating back to 1963, Flatlands is a family-owned and locally operated independent insurance agency serving individuals, families, farmers and businesses throughout Eastern North Carolina.
The agency has several locations across the region, including right here in Winterville at 112 W. Fire Tower Road. As an independent agency, Flatlands works with multiple insurance carriers to help clients find coverage suited to their individual needs. Their services include home and auto insurance, health and life insurance, Medicare options, business and commercial coverage, employee benefits, and agriculture insurance for farms and crops.
Flatlands also places an emphasis on education and service, helping clients better understand their options and navigate what can often be a complicated insurance process.
The agency has grown and evolved considerably over its more than 60-year history. Following a 2017 merger with Marc Jessup Insurance, the company became known as Flatlands Jessup Insurance Group. In early 2026, it simplified its name to Flatlands Insurance Group while maintaining the same ownership, team and commitment to its clients.
