First Citizens Bank

For Hillary Mayo, banking has always been about more than transactions. At First Citizens Bank, her role centers on building relationships and helping individuals and business owners better understand their financial options.

Hillary has called North Carolina home for more than twenty years, though she originally grew up in Pennsylvania. After first moving to the Outer Banks, she eventually settled in Greenville in search of broader opportunities. Early on, she worked in the service industry, waiting tables and bartending while getting to know people throughout the community. Those experiences helped shape the relationship-driven approach she brings to her work today.

Her path into banking began with the goal of creating more balance for her family, but it quickly grew into a career she truly enjoys. As a relationship banker, Hillary works with clients at every stage. From helping someone open their first checking account to supporting business owners with lending solutions for growth and real estate. She sees her role not simply as processing transactions, but as helping people navigate financial decisions with confidence.

What sets Hillary apart is her commitment to making sure clients fully understand their options. She believes people should leave her office with more knowledge than when they arrived. By asking thoughtful questions and exploring possibilities together, she helps individuals and businesses make informed decisions that support their long-term goals.

Outside of the bank, Hillary remains active in the community. She has served as president of a Greenville BNI chapter and participates in initiatives that support local families through holiday meal programs, donation drives, and food pantry efforts. She is also passionate about financial literacy and has volunteered through programs that bring financial education to local elementary schools.

At its core, Hillary’s work is about helping people move forward with confidence building relationships and sharing knowledge that empowers both families and businesses throughout the community.
