Community Awards
Through nominations provided by the public and subsequent voting on finalists, we present 7 businesses and community members with awards each year. Our categories are Business of the Year, Citizen of the Year, Teacher of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Favorite Spot to Shop, Public Servant of the Year, and Favorite New Business.
Eligibility:
- Businesses must be located within Winterville town limits or be an active Winterville Chamber member.
- Citizens must live in Winterville or call Winterville home.
- Volunteers must have made a notable contribution benefiting Winterville.
- Public Servants include municipal employees, EMS, fire, or police personnel serving Winterville.
- Nominees cannot have won the award they’re being nominated for in the last 3 years. Previous winners can be nominated in new categories.
Nominations:
- Nominations are open to the public.
- Anyone may nominate a business, individual, or organization.
- Provide the nominee’s name, category, and a brief description of their contributions.
- Nominations close on October 20th.
Voting:
- After the nomination period closes, voting will open to the public.
- Voters may select one nominee per category.
- Voting closes at the end of November.
- Winners will be announced at the Winterville Community Awards event.
Rules:
- Only one nomination per person, business, or organization per category.
- Self-nominations are allowed.
- Nominees must meet the eligibility criteria listed above.
- All voting decisions are final.
