Hello, my name is Colden Waters. I was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, and live in Greenville, NC. My ties to Winterville go way back. My mother grew up in Winterville, which is my first connection to the town. I attended D.H. Conley High School and graduated in 2020. After graduation, I furthered my education at Pitt Community College and later transferred to Lenoir Community College. I am currently a junior at East Carolina University, studying Management with a concentration in Human Resources.
On campus, I wear many hats. I’m the events coordinator for the East Carolina University Chapter of NAACP, and I’m a member of the Black Student Union and the Caribbean Student Organization.
Let’s take it back to my childhood. My aunt lived in Winterville, and I remember when my cousins and I would walk together to Hillcrest Park. Those were some of the most exciting times in my childhood. I also remember when my classmates and I at Pitt would go to the cafeteria to get those cheese biscuits—they were so cheesy! Whether it’s the cheese biscuits or playing at Hillcrest Park, I will always have memories connected to Winterville.
I can’t wait to work with the Chamber of Commerce and make an impact in the community that raised me.
