We are welcoming Gabby’s Legacy Organization to our Chamber family this month. GLO is a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to supporting pediatric cancer patients and their families. In 2015, 9 year-old Gabby was diagnosed with cancer. Throughout her treatment journey she received help from friends, family, and charitable organizations. This inspired young Gabby to work towards helping others like her. Gabby was lost to our world in 2019, but her family has kept her legacy alive through the founding of GLO.
GLO serves families affected by childhood cancer through various methods: Practical support, like providing resources for gas, groceries, and hygiene kits for unexpected hospital stays, as well as emotional support through mental health treatment. When necessary, they can also assist through grief care packages.
In order to expand the services, Gabby’s Aunt and GLO Founder and Board Chair, Charmaine Smith, is seeking volunteers for new methods of fundraising. She’s hopeful to expand the services offered by Gabby’s Legacy Organization and to be able to serve more families. You can learn about all the ways GLO is serving the community and ways to support them here.
