New Member – Dutchess Sweet Shoppe!

Our sweetest new member is Dutchess Sweet Shoppe located at 4125-B Old Tar Road. They’re open Wed-Sat 11am-5pm.

Owner Jasmine Spencer wants to be involved in her community and provide both the more standard tasty treats we crave like cinnamon rolls, chocolate chip cookies, and brownies, as well as baked goods with some personality! She’s always creating something new, so you can pop by each week to try something a little different. This week it may be a blue velvet cookie, and next week a cinnamon toast crunch cupcake!

Jasmine wants her customers to know they shouldn’t be bound by what they see in the display case, because she’s always excited to whip something fun up! She will make baked goods custom upon your request for your next event – or craving. Tastings to make sure it’s exactly what you want is a must so is included in this service.

Check out Dutchess Sweet Shoppe on Facebook and Instagram to keep your eye on what’s new in their case!

New Member – Railroad Cigars!

New Member – Railroad Cigars!

We have a new member to celebrate – Railroad Cigar Lounge! This unique business is located at 2586 Railroad Street in Winterville, at the heart of our downtown. Owner Kevin Jones says this is a place for anybody and everybody (21 and up) to come relax, enjoy some good conversation, cigars, and a sense of community. The environment here reflects that. They have massage chairs spread throughout the space, TVs for you to watch the game, and of course a humidor in the back for you to select the perfect cigar!

The Railroad Cigar team has been working to bring weekly events to enjoy here like themed trivia night or live music every week. Jazz Night, 90’s Night and Trivia, Smoke and Sing Karaoke night, and more!

If you’re looking for a place to be able to simply check your stress at the door, look no further. The environment here is all about being welcoming and inclusive, so have no fear about being a newcomer!

Stay tuned on their Facebook and Instagram to see all their upcoming events and be in the loop on their current featured Cigar of the Week!

Ribbon Cutting for ENC Community Magazine

Ribbon Cutting for ENC Community Magazine

On March 23rd the Winterville Chamber of Commerce celebrated ENC Community Magazine with a ribbon cutting. Owner Aron Daniels took the a popular Pitt County Womens Journal and evolved it into a more inclusive magazine. With just a few issues under his belt, he has already made a big impact. Aron has taken the community aspect very seriously in that he has truly connected all kinds of people together. It was obvious in the turn out of people there to support him just how many lives he has touched. We are so grateful to have him as a part of the Winterville Chamber!

This ribbon cutting was the first one we held at the Train Depot. This is part of a collaboration we have with the Winterville Historical and Arts Society. We are so grateful to be able to offer this as a venue for ribbon cuttings for businesses that are home-based or don’t have a retail location.

New Member – Koinonia Community Solutions
Please help us in welcoming Koinonia Community Solutions to the Winterville Chamber of Commerce!
This nonprofit was founded in 2014 by Bishop Rosie O’neal of Koinonia Christian Center to serve as a separate entity from the church that can continue their mission of community outreach.
Executive Director Watsi Sutton and Program Administrator Michele Marston have been hard at work fulfilling their mission: Building bridges of opportunity to the underserved in northeastern North Carolina through education, housing, and economic empowerment initiatives.
They have brought a brick & mortar to Winterville to serve as a central location they can reach more people from. They currently have a program focusing on assisting middle school males and their families (although working on an expansion for young girls) through tutoring, mentoring, after school programs, teaching leadership skills, soft skills, public speaking, health and wellness information, conflict resolution skills and much more. They are able to help them see themselves through a positive lens to discover their self-worth and potential.
Koinonia Community Solutions is working on creating a world where no person is left behind. They believe that equity and access to opportunity is the God given right of every person. They are working to make this message heard and felt throughout our area!
Visit https://www.koinoniasolutions.org/ for more information on their impact and how you can get involved!
Stay tuned for plans of a May ribbon cutting!

March Membership Networking Meeting

March Membership Networking Meeting

At the beginning of March we held a Membership Networking Meeting at the Train Depot in Winterville. Our speaker was Tom Quigley from JOY Soup Kitchen. He informed us of the changes and growth JOY is going through with expanding into a Community Center. We learned about all the different activities they are hosting there to benefit the whole community. Tom spoke about how important it is to be able to have a place you can go when you need a meal, that no one should feel ashamed for simply being hungry. We are looking forward to assisting JOY with some community outreach in our area. We will need volunteers with this endeavor so stay tuned!

We enjoyed seeing so many faces that evening. We hope everyone not only got to learn about JOY and be in the loop of everything going on within our Chamber, but walked away having introduced themselves to everyone in the room.

We are looking forward to our next Membership Networking Meeting tentatively planned for June!

Thanks to the Winterville Historical and Arts Society for letting us use the Train Depot for this event!

New Member – ENC Community Magazine!

New Member – ENC Community Magazine!

ENC Community Magazine is another wonderful new Winterville Chamber member! Owner Aron Daniels chose to evolve the already popular ‘Pitt County Womens Journal’ to create a more inclusive, especially community oriented magazine. Inside you will always find helpful information about a local non-profit, articles written by community members about everything from “Finding the Right Employee for Your Home Business” to “The Joy & Simplicity of Composting”, and events that are upcoming in our area.

If you’d like to have their latest issue at your business, or you’re interested in the discounted ad opportunity for our Chamber Members, you can contact Aron at enccommunitymagazine@gmail.com.

We are planning their ribbon cutting for March 23rd.

Ribbon Cutting for Tie Breakers

Ribbon Cutting for Tie Breakers

On February 23rd we finally got to celebrate the new location of Tie Breakers in Winterville! Their new location is a wonderful addition to our downtown area, and we hope all of Winterville will continue to show them love and support. They’re here to serve you a quick (and delicious) lunch on your break when that’s your need, or for you to hang out, drink a few beers and watch the game on their big screens when you’re wanting to kick back in the evenings! You can find them at 2582 Railroad Street in Winterville.

Welcome to Winterville Tie Breakers!
